I need to go to Victoria again.  I mean, it’s so close, but I never go to the island.

Beautiful pictures.

Does each province have it’s own lieutenant governor?

Yep. As the Queen’s representative in each Province, the Lieutenant Governor performs her duties, such as summoning and then dissolving the legislature.

That sounds powerful, and probably was back in the days when the constitutional monarchy was in its infancy, but nowadays it is ceremonial.

(Aussies, though, are always an exception people : See the 1975 Australian constitutional crisis )

The equivalent for the entire country is the Governor General .

Finally, the Government House is actually owned by the British crown, and so are the official residences on royal visits.

Well, ferry rides, even for just 1 guy and his car, is not so cheap that I can just go on a whim, as you know :-(

This Sunday the BMW Car Club of BC is visiting a private BMW collection in the Saanich Peninsula as a day trip. Since the ferry costs the same, I decided to go over a day early to re-do the Pacific Rim Highway trip I did last December... where I crossed over Alberni Summit in FREEZING FOG and so my GoPro failed and I came back with no footage :-(

I grabbed a room in downtown Nanaimo and will be walking around there after dinner. Hopefully will have some decent stuffs to post next week.

Each of the Commonwealth of Nations countries has their quirks and had issues.

But it is a lot of countries so is bound to.
